There is no verified universal cleaning price here. Cartridge, sand and DE systems require different procedures, and the actual condition matters. Ask for a written proposal that names the model, explains why service is needed and identifies what the quoted charge includes.

Pressure has changed

Compare with a clean baseline at the same pump setting and system mode. Pentair’s Clean & Clear Plus guide records original starting pressure and pump RPM; its approximate 10 psi service rise is model-specific. Use your own manual rather than applying that number to every filter.

The pool is cloudy

Cloudiness alone does not establish that filter cleaning is the complete solution. Record current water tests, recent treatments and circulation observations so the provider can assess the whole problem.

There is visible damage or a leak

A damaged clamp, housing or leak needs assessment rather than routine cleaning assumptions. Do not open, loosen or probe pressurized equipment. Follow the exact model’s instructions and use a qualified provider when the procedure or condition is uncertain.

Safely record manufacturer/model, gauge reading, pump setting and pool/spa mode.
Provide the date of last filter service and any known clean baseline.
Identify recent equipment changes, water-quality concerns and actual work already performed.

Understand the proposed work

Ask whether the proposed work is routine cleaning, a component repair or replacement. Request the finding that supports it. A gauge reading alone does not establish a failed filter. Cleaning charges, replacement media or elements, seals and repairs should remain separate line items where applicable.

Name the exact filter and the procedure included; clarify whether disassembly, inspection and reassembly are covered.
List consumables, replacement parts and disposal arrangements, including who checks applicable local wastewater rules.
